Wesleyan renews deal with Royal College of General Practitioners
Wesleyan Group, the Birmingham headquartered specialist financial services mutual for GPs, has renewed its relationship with the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) to provide exclusive financial advice for members.
The relationship began in July 2020 and after a successful first year has been extended for a further 12 months.
In the first year Wesleyan’s communications reached 21,000 GPs with advice on both personal and business finance and provided RCGP members with tailored support on retirement planning, savings and investments, protection, inheritance tax planning, business planning and mortgages.
This year will see the expansion of Wesleyan’s services to RCGP’s full 48,000 UK membership.
Ben Clacy, executive director, membership development and education at RCGP, said: “The RCGP is pleased to be continuing our partnership with Wesleyan, giving our members access to well-informed, tailored advice and support on a wide variety of financial issues. Wesleyan have shown they understand the complexity of GPs’ personal and professional finances, including the NHS Pension Scheme.”

Wesleyan has supported GPs throughout the pandemic with tailored support, including the launch of the ‘Wesleyan Wellbeing Hub’ to provide 24/7 health and wellbeing support as well as access to mental health first aid.
Last year, the business launched a £1.2m ‘mutual support package’ to help front-line critical workers. The Wesleyan Foundation, the charitable arm of Wesleyan, also donated to NHS Charities Together, which supports the NHS, including its hospitals, ambulance services, mental health care providers and vital partnerships.
