Training provider creates jobs after year of growth

Training provider Martec is recruiting a minimum of seven trainers to support young people following a year of significant growth.

Martec provides education and apprenticeships across Stoke and Staffordshire and is a specialist in the motor industry.

The business is recruiting for roles including two motor vehicle tutors, two teaching assistants in motor vehicles, two teaching assistants for English and Maths as well as a hospitality and catering SEND tutor and a life skills tutor.

The past year has been one of growth for Martec thanks to its smaller teaching environment.

CEO Tracey Marson puts the growth down to one-to-one support their trainers offer, the SEND provision, and its smaller facilities.

Martec also runs a series of EV training courses.

Marson said: “We’ve massively expanded our SEND courses and it’s been brilliant supporting many young people as they work towards achieving the correct qualifications for their chosen career.

“The fact that we teach in a more nurturing environment with smaller class sizes is appealing for a number of reasons. Obviously, Covid-19 is a factor but it’s also preferable to many people who don’t want to be in a larger learning facility.

“We have great connections with our students and it’s incredibly fulfilling.”
