Developer announces Staffordshire scheme

Developer Walton Homes has launched a development in Cheadle following a break of more than a decade since it last oversaw a development in the Staffordshire moorlands.

The new site, Augustus Fields, follows market research carried out by the business to identify desirable hotspots for buyers.

Sarah Summerton, director of the business, said: “The past decade has seen us site developments throughout Staffordshire but having carried out extensive market research, we decided to return to this area for our next project.

“The past 16 months have had a huge impact on property – people have spent many months confined to their homes and that has led to a real appetite within the housing market.

“We’ve had a lot of conversations with potential buyers who have made the decision to either downsize or purchase a property with more space, to focus on finding a home with a bigger garden, to or to move to an improved location, and we wanted to address those requirements.”

Augustus Fields comprises 39 homes ranging from two- to five bedrooms located off Birchwood Grove, with work expected to complete next year.

Summerton added: “We have been pleased with the response we’ve had to Augustus Fields since we launched it earlier this month. There is a huge demand for properties within Cheadle, and we’ve taken care to cater for a number of needs, incorporating a number of bungalows within the range of properties.”
