People: Wealth management group makes trio of hires; New associate director at planning and development consultancy; and more

Tilney Smith & Williamson, the wealth management and professional services group, has strengthened its Birmingham investment management team by announcing three appointments.

Gavin Hill has joined the firm to focus on business development for the Midlands while Dr Aidan France and Sophie Pounds become assistant investment managers.

The news follows the recent announcement that Tilney Smith & Williamson has agreed terms for a new office at Birmingham’s landmark 103 Colmore Row – the tallest office building under construction in the UK outside London.

Dr Adam Parker, managing director of Tilney Smith & Williamson’s Birmingham financial services team, said: “We have ambitious plans for expansion in the Midlands in the coming years and are therefore investing in growing our team. As we look forward to moving into our new landmark offices at 103 Colmore Row next year, I am delighted to welcome Gavin, Aidan and Sophie to Tilney Smith & Williamson.”

Birmingham planning and development consultancy Lichfields has announced a senior appointment.

Myles Wild-Smith has been promoted to the position of associate director at the firm’s office at Cornerblock in Cornwall Street.

Chief executive James Fennell said the promotion is well deserved with Myles contributing significantly to Lichfields growth during challenging times over the last 12 months.

He said: “Well done to Myles. Our investment in highly talented people is the linchpin of providing top quality advice to our clients. We look forward to him continuing to grow his career at Lichfields and contributing significantly to our future success.”

National chartered surveyors Bruton Knowles has made another key appointment within its national valuation team.

James Foley will join Bruton Knowles as client services manager for its national valuation ream at the firm’s Birmingham office.

Ian Pitt, partner and head of the national valuation team, said: “Since launching the National Valuation Team we’ve seen vast growth and it’s imperative we are utilising the latest technology to continue to deliver a time and cost efficient service which provides accurate advice.
