Bank to shut city branch for upgrade

TSB is to deliver a major upgrade to its branch in Birmingham, Perry Barr under plans it says will transform how the bank serves its customers in the city.

Designed to “meet the changing needs of high street customers”, the revamped branch will have a more open and flexible layout so it is easier to interact with customers.

New technology including tablets will also make it easier for branch colleagues to talk to customers on video or telephone calls.

Work on the branch is due to start early September and is expected to be complete by the start of October.

The branch will need to be temporarily closed for two weeks, and will close on Friday September 3, reopening again on Tuesday September 21.

Director, branch banking, Carol Anderson, said: “There have been significant changes in the way customers do their banking, and we are responding to that by creating a very different type of branch. This new layout will help support our customers and give them money confidence because we can interact with them better.”
