Tech firm celebrated for international trade success at Queen’s Award for Enterprise ceremony

Worcestershire based tech firm Payara Services has celebrated its international trade success after receiving the official Queen’s Award for Enterprise trophy and Award at a ceremony held at Malvern Hills Science Park.

The ceremony welcomed officials from across the Worcestershire region to acknowledge Payara’s success, including Harriett Baldwin, MP for West Worcestershire, Vice Lord-Lieutenant Brigadier Roger Brunt CBE and Robert Elliot, director of business engagement and development for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce.

Other attendees included individuals who have worked with Payara on its business journey, ranging from representatives of Worcestershire County Council and Malvern Hills District Council through to Lloyds Banking Group and Aston University.

Payara is recognised for its creation of innovative infrastructure software including the delivery of 24/7 production, development, and migration support to customers worldwide, including BMW, Hermes, and Rakuten Card.

With a secondary EU office located in Madeira, Portugal, Payara boasts a strong track record of international trade, with its services now exported to many countries globally – including the USA, Japan, South Africa, and Germany.

Steve Millidge, founder and CEO of Payara Services, said: “I’m incredibly proud to be receiving this renowned award on behalf of the whole team, not as an individual. One of the key elements that binds our global team together is our set of seven key core values, in particular Passion and Openness: passion in what we do, and a very open culture, with closeness as a team. We work together as a very well-oiled machine, and we wouldn’t have this business without our amazing people. I also want to thank co-founder Julia, who is also my wife and my best friend. This really is a huge honour for us.”

Harriett Baldwin said: “Malvern is home to so many highly successful technology businesses and I’ve been in close touch with Payara as it developed its business which now operates all over the world.

“This Queen’s Award is a huge tribute to Steve and Julia and all of the team who do such an amazing job and I was really proud to join the business community marking this royal recognition in person.”
