Chinese restaurant and cocktail bar set for Brindleyplace opening

Chinese restaurant and specialist cocktail bar Lulu Wild is set for its soft launch from today (September 13) before officially opening in two weeks.

The team has transformed the former Carluccio’s site on the Water’s Edge in Brindleyplace, with capacity for 160 people downstairs and 80 upstairs.

Head chef Derrick Chen has honed his skills at restaurants such as Hakkasan, Yauatcha, and the Ritz Carlton in Singapore.

Signature dishes on the menu will include black truffle roast duck with shimeji and roast free-range chicken in satay sauce.

MD Nishil Nathwani said: “The cocktails will be full-on theatrics, enough to envy Lulu’s big sister, Aluna, with twists on traditional cocktails with a Chinese influence, such as the Ginger Mojito. We’re really quality driven and use premium products in our all creations. Our mixologists have created an extensive list of cocktails including the classics and bespoke creations – with many offering an interactive experience for the guests.”

Marketing manager Naomi Aly said: “Lulu Wild has been a long-anticipated addition to our family, combining our signature style of visionary mixologists and artistic cuisine. Since our story began in 2015, with the opening of Aluna, our hospitality group has always had the ambition to grow. Since then, we’ve added Siamais, Aluna in Bristol and now we are excited to welcome Lulu Wild. I can just feel the excitement from our regular customers who I know are going to love Lulu!”
