Richard Lomas

Birmingham-based land promoter Richborough Estates has appointed Richard Lomas as planning director for its eastern division.

Lomas has joined from Axis PED and has held previous posts at The Co-op, Gladman, Turley Associates and CBRE. He has worked closely with Richborough Estates for several years on a number of key projects.

James Bradshaw, managing director of Richborough Estates’ eastern division, said: “This is a very exciting time for the division as we embark on our growth plan in response to demand for high quality, shovel-ready residential land to tackle the housing shortage.

“We’re delighted to add Richard’s vast skills and experience to the team to assist in the delivery of our portfolio. Having worked with him for several years, we know he is a great fit for Richborough and he will add to our continued development and expertise.”

Lomas added: “Richborough Estates has a great reputation in the strategic land industry and I’m delighted to take up this role. The company is very decisive and fair and trusts its people to deliver.

“I’ll be working closely with our internal team, landowners, local authorities and consultants to navigate sites through the complex planning process, which will include securing allocations in Local Plans and delivering planning permissions. Ultimately my role is to ensure we bring value all our stakeholders and enhance the benefits that developments can deliver to communities.”
