Birmingham law firm makes four senior hires

Rachel Soundy

Law firm Bevan Brittan has added a further two partners and two senior associates to its Birmingham team.

Construction expert Helen Andrews and higher education corporate specialist Rachel Soundy have both moved to Bevan Brittan.

Andrews joins from Fieldfisher and is an experienced addition to the firm’s construction team. Her broad experience includes advising on contentious and non-contentious matters acting for main contractors, subcontractors, employers, developers, funders, consultants and end user occupiers.

Corporate partner Soundy, a higher education specialist, moves to Bevan Brittan from Eversheds Sutherland, adding strength and depth to a team that recently secured a position on the major London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) Framework.

The pair have been joined in the firm’s Temple Row office by senior associates Alex Lawrence and William Cursham.

Adrian Dagnall, head of Bevan Brittan’s Birmingham office, said: “Helen, Rachel, Alex and William add further depth to our strong offering in the Midlands and show our continued ability to attract highly respected experts to advise our growing client base across our emerging and established markets.

“The recruitment of Helen marks a major step forward for the development of our construction practice. Helen’s practice is principally transactional construction and she will add considerable extra strength and depth to the team nationally and here in Birmingham

“Rachel’s appointment comes at a time when we continue to see an uplift in the way we are supporting the higher education sector. Being part of the LUPC will bring many exciting prospects and it is therefore great timing for us to enlist Rachel’s help and support on maximising these opportunities.

“We welcome all four of them to the team and I’m really looking forward to working with them to help us grow our presence in the Midlands.”
