Birmingham-based building services specialist J S Wright has secured a contract valued at more than £9m to install the engineering infrastructure systems for the third and largest phase of one of London’s biggest regeneration projects.

The mechanical and electrical package will serve 620 apartments at Hallsville Quarter, a new £600m town centre scheme which is being developed by Bouygues UK for Canning Town in the east London borough of Newham.

The mix of private rented, shared ownership, affordable and extra care units, spread across the eight buildings constituting phase three, are part of plans to create a thriving community and establish a legacy for Canning Town.

Work on site has already started on the project which is scheduled for completion in late 2023.

J S Wright is already working with Bouygues UK on another contract to fit out the M&E services for Castle Park View, a 375-unit private housing scheme in Bristol and the first to be connected to Bristol City Council’s heat network.

Phil Leech, managing director of J S Wright, said: “We are delighted that such a prestigious developer has turned again to our mechanical and electrical expertise to help transform the lives of residents in a rapidly developing area of London.”
