Nursery group bought by Kids Planet

Tic Toc Day Nursery, a group of two day nurseries in Coventry, has been acquired by Kids Planet.

Tic Toc Day Nursery was established in 2004 as a 52-place nursery, named Tic Toc 1.

Following the success of the first setting, Tic Toc 2 was opened in October 2009 and this was later expanded in 2015.

Tic Toc 1 is for children under the age of three, and Tic Toc 2 is for pre-school children. Both settings have undergone extensive refurbishments over the years.

Tic Toc Day Nursery was previously owned by David Wedgewood and his family, who decided to sell due to retirement.

The business has now been purchased by Kids Planet, one of the largest day nursery groups in the country.

Jassi Sunner, associate director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, said: “These nurseries were extremely popular amongst our database, and we received a raft of enquiries within an hour of going to market. A sale was quickly agreed on the same day, and we successfully ensured a timely completion for our client within eight weeks. Tic Toc represents the continued growth of Kids Planet into the Midlands and provides a key strategic location to other parts of the county and their other settings.

“The market has shown no signs of abating, with increasing amounts of stock going under offer in the Midlands.”

Tic Toc Day Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
