London bar operator eyes Birmingham investment

Inside the London Cocktail Club Liverpool Street venue

A new cocktail bar could be coming to Birmingham city centre at the London Cocktail Club submitted a licence application for the ground floor unit of 31 Temple Street.

London Cocktail Club wants to the move into the premises, in what would be its first opening outside the south of England. The company currently runs venues across London and Reading.

The firm was set up by friends JJ Goodman and James Hopkins who opened their first bar in Covent Garden in the mid-2000s. It has since grown to run 12 bars. Goodman and Hopkins appeared on TV show The Restaurant in 2009, which has hosted by Raymond Blanc OBE, and he sits on the board of the London Cocktail Club as a non-executive director.

The ground floor of 31 Temple Street comes in at 4,650 sq ft, with the potential to extend to 6,100 sq ft.
