Pop stars bring panto fun

Family festive fun is sweeping across the West Midlands as the pantomimes come to town!

The stars are taking to the stage in Christmas classics after many were cancelled last year due to tiered restrictions. 

Here are a few of the West Midlands pantos;

Cinderella – Wolverhampton Grand

Featuring AJ and Curtis Pritchard as Prince Charming and Dandini, CBeebies’ Evie Pickerill as Cinderella and five Star’s Denise Pearson as the Fairy Godmother, the audience follows poor servant girl Cinderella! 

Living under her wicked stepmother and stepsisters rule, will she make it to the ball to find her Prince Charming?

You can catch poor Cinders’ journey from the 4th December 2021 to the 9th January 2022. Tickets start at £16.50.

Goldilocks & the Three Bears – Birmingham Hippodrome

Actor, singer and personality Jason Donovan will make his panto debut as the Evil Ringmaster alongside Birmingham panto veteran, Matt Slack.

Dame Betty Barnum and her daughter Goldilocks are battling to save their Big Top from an evil circus owner with a little help from three bears!

Tickets start at £16 and you can see this from the 18th December 2021 to the 30th January 2022.

Beauty & the Beast – Coventry Belgrade Theatre

Written by and featuring Coventry’s favourite dame Ian Lauchlan, Beauty and the Beast comes to the Belgrade Theatre. 

Joined by Craig Hollingsworth as Lauchlan’s sidekick, things are looking bleak for Belle as she is kidnapped by a beast!

The beast, however, is under the curse of an enchantress and the spell can only be broken by true love. 

Tickets begin at £13.50 and you can see the show from now until the 8th January 2022.

Jack & the Beanstalk – Palace Theatre, Redditch

FE FI FO FUM! Jack & the Beanstalk is set to take the stage at the Palace Theatre, Redditch. 

Starring Mark Read from boyband A1 as Jack, he sets off on an adventure taking him to new heights filled with magic beans, hidden treasure and a giant!

Tickets are from £18.50 and you can watch Jack the hero from 6th December 2021 – 2nd January 2022

A Christmas Carol – Albany Theatre, Coventry

Timeless Christmas classic, A Christmas Carol visits the Albany Theatre in Coventry. 

Directed by Kevin Shaw, it’s Christmas Eve and Scrooge is whisked away by ghosts presenting him his past, present and future to change his cold heart and lack of festive cheer!

Tickets range from £11 – £18 and you can catch this tale from the 4th December to 26th December 2021.
