Birmingham advisers lead on major fintech deal
Retail technology firm WonderLane has been acquired by Trust Payments, a fintech company specialising in frictionless payments in a deal led by Birmingham’s Springboard Corporate Finance.

Cloud-native, Android-based technologies deliver real-time, remotely configurable systems, speeding up the checkout process, engaging customers and providing a single view of products, customers and inventory.
Trust Payments is a leading FinTech payments and software solutions provider whose omnichannel platform processes billions in secure transactions every year for businesses across the globe, including the UK and US.
The move enables Trust Payments to provide innovative retail operations technology solutions to any shop with its electronic point of sale (ePOS) offering, enabling truly omnichannel commerce and payments solutions – all of which supports the growing trend for self-checkouts and wireless contact payments on-the-move.
Martin Hartley and Lawry Freeman the shareholders of WonderLane were advised by Springboard Corporate Finance partner Simon Ward, director Robert Johnson and manager Tom Hammond.
