‘Very serious’ incident closes M6 southbound

The M6 southbound is closed within Junction 7, near Great Barr, north of Birmingham.

As a result there are delays of 60 minutes above normal journey times, with slow moving traffic back to J10a (Bloxwich).

The closure is due to a “very serious” Central Motorway Police-led incident, says National Highways.

Traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads, to leave and re-join the M6 southbound at J7.
