Law firm advises on major media acquisition
Law firm Squire Patton Boggs has advised private investment firm RCapital on the sale of Archant Community Media, the fourth largest regional news publisher, to Newsquest Media Group.
The team advising on the transaction was led by partners Geoff Perry and Russ Hill, and also included associates Leyla Parvizi, Indy Bening, Emily Davis and senior associate Oliver Ward-Jones.
The team had previously acted for RCapital when it acquired Archant in 2020.
Archant owns a portfolio of leading local news brands principally in East Anglia, and also publishes a portfolio of successful regional County Life magazines.
Its news brands include the Eastern Daily Press, the East Anglia Daily Times, Norwich Evening News, and Ipswich Star.
Archant employs 760 staff and its head office is in Norwich.
