Cyber security incident reported at The Works

Retailer of arts, crafts, toys and books, The Works, has confirmed it has been subject to a cyber security incident involving unauthorised access to its computer systems.

There has been some disruption to operations with some stores closing due to till issues. Stock replenishment deliveries to stores were suspended temporarily and the normal delivery window for online orders was extended.

Stores deliveries are now expected to resume and normal online service levels are progressively being reintroduced.

The company says it doesn’t anticipate that the incident will impact its forecasts or financial position.

In addition, all payment data is processed securely outside of the group’s systems through an accredited third-party network and therefore there is no risk that the payment data has been accessed improperly.
