100 jobs to be created at JLR near Wolverhampton

100 jobs are being created at Jaguar Land Rover’s engine manufacturing centre near Wolverhampton.

The 100,000 sq m plant at Innovation Drive on the i54 business park is looking for production operatives following the recent launch of the new Range Rover, for which the JLR has 40,000 orders.

Its recruitment partner Randstand is working with JobCentre Plus to find production operatives with the group offering £12.77 an hour play shift allowances.

The £1bn EMC already employs nearly 1,200 people and has been involved in efforts to support Ukrainian employees who work at its Slovakian factory, making Land Rover Discovery and Defender models.

Staff at the EMC have taken part in a virtual bike ride to complete 1,656 miles – the distance between Kyiv and Wolverhampton – to raise money to support the work to reunite Ukrainian colleagues with their families.

In addition, EMC has sent 28 vehicles to the area to support the Red Cross.
