Eye health clinic looking to create jobs ahead of launch

A new eye health clinic and surgical centre will open in Worcester later this month, creating 30 jobs.

Newmedica Worcester will operate from a facility in Berkeley Business Park on Wainwright Road.

It is the latest venture from the independent health provider with clinics across England, and has free onsite parking with charging points for electric vehicles, alongside public transport links.

The clinic and surgical centre will provide NHS and private treatment for cataract surgery and aftercare, and will also offer YAG laser treatment, a treatment used after cataract surgery. There are plans to offer additional services in the coming months.

Newmedica Worcester will be run by a team of seven local partners, operational director Josh Raden and consultant ophthalmologists Mr Malcolm Woodcock, Mr Tarun Sharma, Mr Ranjit Nair, Mr Salman Mirza, Mr Thomas Jackson and Mr Matthew Edmunds.

Raden said: “We look forward to working with optometrists and other local partners to give patients the treatment they need locally in a timely way. We are accepting referrals now ahead of opening, so please get in touch with us.

“We’ve been welcomed really warmly already locally, and want to thank everyone we’ve already been in contact with for their kindness. Across the country, Newmedica patients tell us every day how delighted they are with the personalised treatment and care they have received, and we can’t wait to share that experience with the people of Worcester and the wider county.”
