Duo of major industrial lettings sealed

Two large industrial units, Rugeley 161 and Halesfield 15, have new occupiers.

Knight Frank’s Birmingham-based Midlands logistics and industrial team has advised Mercia Real Estate on the letting of Rugeley 161, a 161,145 sq ft industrial warehouse unit to international e-commerce fulfilment company DCG Logistics UK on a 10 year lease.

Meanwhile, Halesfield 15, a 170,000 sq ft industrial facility in Telford, previously occupied by Brintons Carpets, has been let to cardboard recycling specialist OSO Fiber UK.

Edward Kennerley, associate at Knight Frank said: “We are delighted to have agreed these two major lettings in the West Midlands for Mercia Real Estate. The effects of the pandemic on consumer habits have propelled the Midlands logistics and industrial market toward new heights with a record-breaking year for take-up. Both occupiers provide key services within the e-commerce sector and are examples of ongoing trends. We are delighted to have been able to identify both occupiers extremely quickly and look forward to working with Mercia in the future.”

Samuel Clark , CEO of Mercia Real Estate said: “As the prime industrial market has continued to strengthen we have also been able to benefit from minimal leasehold stock availability in the second hand market where there is significant demand from price sensitive occupiers. Knight Frank has been pivotal in us completing these transactions.”
