Experience marketplace to launch in Birmingham

A marketplace for unique Birmingham experiences is set to launch in the city this July, offering small businesses the opportunity for new revenue streams that will boost the local economy.

The experience website Yuup was first founded in Bristol, fully launching to consumers in March 2021, providing a platform for small independent businesses and indie creators to offer experiences to consumers in their local community.

Since launch, Yuup has generated £700,000 for the 300 hosts signed to the platform and collectively hosts have sold more than 27,000 experiences.

The expansion of the Yuup brand into Birmingham marks a significant milestone for the business, which has identified the city as the perfect destination for its local experience marketplace, thanks to its bustling independent shops, bars, restaurants, unique venues and thriving arts and entertainment scene.

The company has already signed up more than 50 Birmingham hosts to the platform, including Macaron Making with Miss Macaroon and a Gin Cruise with The Gintleman, and the number of local partners is expected to continue to grow as it approaches its official launch date of 6 July.

Dominic Mills, co-founder, and CEO of Yuup, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be expanding our experience marketplace to Birmingham following a phenomenally successful pilot launch in Bristol.

“Birmingham has a diverse community looking to share new experiences, and Yuup provides the ideal platform to connect people with independent businesses and entrepreneurs offering these.

“As well as providing a simple go-to online marketplace for customers, we’ve seen that our platform can really make a difference to local businesses, offering additional revenue streams to help them continue to thrive, and in addition, injecting money back into the local area.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming more hosts to our platform over the coming months and are excited to give people the chance to discover some of the most fun, unique and interesting experiences the city has to offer.”

Yuup has appointed Edgbaston-based PR agency, WPR, and TikTok agency Nonsensical, situated on Livery Street, to create awareness around the launch.
