People: Dual Partner promotion for Azets’ restructuring and insolvency team; Evelyn Partners hires from KPMG; and more

Azets has further strengthened its restructuring and insolvency (R&I) team by appointing two new partners.

Birmingham-based Margaret Carter and Chris Tate from the firm’s Southampton office have both been promoted to partner.

Carter has a long-established career in credit management, treasury, business development, and property finance. She qualified as an insolvency practitioner in 2016, using her years of commercial experience to help clients navigate through difficult financial circumstances.

She joined Azets in 2019 and in her new role as partner will work closely with the expanding Corporate Finance, Forensics, and Transaction Services teams in Birmingham.

Tate joined Azets in April 2021 with more than 17 years’ experience advising directors and business owners who are experiencing financial difficulties. He is a qualified chartered accountant and insolvency practitioner and has worked on a wide portfolio of corporate and personal insolvency matters in industries including construction, retail, leisure, and manufacturing.

Evelyn Partners, the wealth management and professional services group created from the merger of Tilney and Smith & Williamson, has appointed audit professional Ben Stapleton to help drive continued growth in the firm’s Birmingham office.

He joins Evelyn Partners from KPMG where he was most recently a director in the firm’s audit practice. During more than 25 years at KPMG, he worked with both private and public sector clients and contributed to initiatives to enhance audit quality.

Most recently he worked with a portfolio of privately owned businesses, including family owned .and private equity backed companies, as well as UK companies of international groups.  At Evelyn Partners he will focus on growing the firm’s presence working with mid-sized corporates based in the M1 corridor running up to the Midlands.

His appointment comes on the back of Evelyn Partners’ Birmingham teams recently moving into new offices at the city’s landmark 103 Colmore Row. Evelyn Partner’s new Birmingham premises provides space for around 170 people.

MyWorkwear, a supplier of custom clothing and personalised workwear, has recently welcomed four staff members to new roles in its sales and marketing team.

The team has been expanded substantially following the opening of the company’s new production facility in April and the announcement of its plans to reach an annual turnover target of £5m in the next three years.

Lauren Chandler has been promoted internally to a new account management position.

A recent university graduate, Alex Simpson joins the team as the new sales administrator.

On the marketing side of the team, Morgan Grice has taken on the new role of social media executive.

Finally, Gayle Parker has been appointed as MyWorkwear’s permanent head of marketing.

The Shropshire business has expanded substantially within the last 24 months, doubling turnover and tripling overall staff numbers. MyWorkwear has also invested £150,000 in a variety of new machinery and technology.
