Housebuilder launches West Midlands region with acquisition of £85m Telford site

Avant Homes has launched a West Midlands region with its acquisition of a 20.9-acre site to deliver 184 units in Priorslee, Telford, with a gross development value of £85m.
The housebuilder has now set its sights on expanding its operations throughout Staffordshire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Shropshire.
Avant Homes employs more than 700 people. This is the housebuilder’s sixth region complementing its existing operations based in Stirling, Sunderland, Wakefield, Chesterfield and Nottingham.
Called Monkswood, the Priorslee development will comprise a mix of two, three, four and five-bedroom homes with prices starting from £250,000. Avant Homes also intends to apply to build a further 136-units representing phase two of the development next December.
Work on phase one is scheduled to start on site in July with the first legal occupations expected to take place in spring next year.
Avant Homes group operating officer Scott Varley said: “Our Priorslee site acquisition has given us flying start in the West Midlands. We are very excited by the opportunities available to us in the region and expect to be able to announce more acquisitions soon.
“Expanding within the West Midlands is a key element of Avant Homes’ nationwide strategic growth plan. To enable that, we are currently recruiting at all levels in the region for sales, construction, land, technical and commercial roles.
“We are going to build upon the positive momentum generated by our successful launch and are looking forward to the West Midlands playing a significant role in Avant Homes’ continued success story.”
