M&E firm collapses owing over £4m

A £20m Halesowen M&E firm which worked on a host of London schemes has filed for bankruptcy.

Trade title Construction Enquirer says that P&R Morson has collapsed with debts estimated to be in excess of £4m.

The firm’s clients included Galiford Try, John Sisk and Graham.

P&R Morson director Paul Morris has appointed Butcher Woods as the liquidator of the firm.

A source told Construction Enquirer: “The staff had an idea of this happening but it was never formally or officially told and communication from the leadership was poor.

“Many of the staff that remained in the last few months have been at the company over 20 years.

“They have left many businesses without payment owing apparently around in total £4.3m, leaving some smaller long term subcontractors to potentially close.”

P&R Morson had a sister company, the building services maintenance business Morson FM. Its future is unclear.
