Six-figure sum invested into second site by manufacturer

More than £200,000 has been invested into a second site in the Black Country by Teepee Electrical.

The manufacturer of complex cable harnesses and wiring looms has secured more than £500,000 of additional contracts since the start of the year and is now taking on and fitting out the additional 7500 sq ft unit in Aldridge.

The new facility will house machinery such as automated cable, strip and cutting machines, ink jet printing and technical crimp presses.

A 30-metre+ cable cut and assembly bench with matching A-frames has also been installed.

Steve Clarke, Managing Director of Teepee Electrical

Steve Clarke, the Managing Director of Teepee Electrical said: “Our existing facility in Bloxwich had scope for increased capacity, but in order to optimise efficiency, reduce product changeovers and to cope with the variances the new market opportunities are offering us, investing in the second site in Aldridge was key.”

“Our ERP management system will link both factories together and our world class quality standards will ensure all wiring harnesses are delivered on time and to the highest specification.

“We’ve even bought a new electric car to help transport people between the two factories and, importantly, support our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint.”

Teepee Electrical is looking to take turnover to £5m in 2022, as more customers tap into its ability to supply volume cable assemblies.

Clarke concluded: “In the last month alone, we have increased our workforce by 8%, with further recruitment set to take place for both sites in the coming months. Our team are driven to keep investing and harnessing the future.”
