Trio of nurseries acquired by Busy Bees

A trio of nurseries has joined leading early years provider Busy Bees.

The firm has acquired Hampshire’s Egg Days Nurseries, a family-owned organisation that has grown over the last 12 years.

The nurseries, located in Andover and Winchester, care for children across all age groups; babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers.

Following the acquisition, Birmingham headquartered Busy Bees now has four early years settings based in Hampshire, including Busy Bees Eastleigh, Pilgrims Close.

The group cares for more than 40,000 children across 386 nurseries in the UK and Ireland, and more than 75,000 children globally across eight countries.

Cheryl Creaser, Europe CEO at Busy Bees, said: “We are delighted to welcome Egg Day Nurseries to our growing family. The owners have created three beautiful nurseries that offer wonderful learning environments for children, and we are committed to preserving their vision going forward. We’re looking forward to working with the team to ensure we can continue providing children with the best start in life.”

Sutton Scotney in Winchester can cater for 69 children from birth to five years. The nursery features four rooms for the children, a dedicated baby sleep room, a baby kitchen, and a laundry room.

The older children have free flow access to the outside play area, with babies also having their own dedicated outdoor space to play.

The second nursery is Picket Twenty in Andover which caters for 72 children. The purpose- built single-storey building features a large outdoor area and four rooms designed to meet the needs of the children as they grow.

In 2017, Egg Day Nurseries acquired Magic Tower Montessori Nursery School in Andover which caters for 40 children. The nursery features a tailored Forest School programme with daily afternoon sessions for the children and large spacious rooms.

Anthony and Briony White, Owners of Egg Day Nurseries, added: “It has been an absolute pleasure to have provided childcare and early years education to all of our children and to have worked with countless dedicated, professional, and caring colleagues during the past 12 years from when Sutton Scotney was established.

Parents and staff across all three nurseries will, in time, have access to the Busy Bees’ Unleashing Potential (UP) learning and development tool.

The specially designed app brings together activities, songs, games, and advice in one place for educators to use with children.
