Traffic alert: M6 closed northbound between J9 and J11

The M6 in Staffordshire is closed northbound between J9 (Wednesbury) and J11 (Cannock) due to a lorry which has spilt its fuel tank across the carriageway.

There are delays of up to 60 minutes on the approach to the closure at J9 from both the M5 and the M6 at this time. 

Approximately 200 litres of diesel has run onto the road surface. National Highways Traffic Officers and contractors are in attendance working to contain and clear the spill.

As a result of this incident, there is no access to the M54 westbound from the M6.
