People: Trio of partner hires at law firm; Expansion for MK2 Real Estate; and more

Law firm VWV continues to strengthen its partnership, with three lawyers being promoted to partner bringing the firm’s total number to 93.

The partners span three teams – Kenji Batchelor in Corporate, Jaime Hobday in Charities and Sarah Martin in VWV’s subsidiary brand Narrow Quay HR.

In addition to the partner promotions, 10 more of the firm’s legal staff have achieved promotions to associate or senior associate.

Property consultancy MK2 Real Estate has made three senior hires at its office in Birmingham.

Oliver Bates has joined as director in the lease consultancy team, having previously worked at Cushman & Wakefield for eight years.

Girish Patel and Louise Lockucewicz both join as associate director in property management. Patel has joined from Fisher German and Lockucewicz from Lambert Smith Hampton.

MK2 has also appointed Mark Goldie as a facilities manager and Paul Owen as a senior surveyor within the building consultancy team.

The appointments take MK2’s total headcount to 23, plus 18 on-site facilities management staff.

Mark Rooke, co-founder and director of MK2 Real Estate, said: “Last year we moved to a new larger office at 57 Cornwall Street to accommodate our long-term expansion plans, growth across the business and individual service lines.

“We’re now seeing the payback of our investment in the new premises with the ability to bring in people as and when required.

“Oliver, Girish and Louise are experienced operators and will be valuable additions to their respective teams.”

Hexagon Leasing has appointed Nick Parker as national account and business development manager and his role will include the management and development of key and existing customers as well as working with new and prospective clients.

Parker was previously at NRG Riverside and Ryder. He has almost 20 years experience in the commercial vehicle industry including managing locations, workshops and technicians to key account management of major blue chip national customers.

David Hodgkinson, head of sales at Hexagon Leasing, said: “We are very pleased that Nick has joined the team. He has a wealth of industry experience and knowledge and will be well equipped to help Hexagon achieve our ambitious growth plans over the coming months and years.

“At Hexagon we see ourselves as a partner, collaborating with our customers and Nick will be vital in maintaining and developing long-term relationships across key accounts.”

Post pandemic, Hexagon has strengthened its team and service provision across its operational, national account and finance departments. In addition, its senior management team has been further strengthened with the appointment of Alan Ellison as CEO in June this year.
