Interpath Advisory has announced the promotion of Steve Bunn to managing director within its transaction services business.

Birmingham-based Bunn has more than 17 years of deal advisory and restructuring experience, having worked in London and the Midlands across transaction services and restructuring teams at KPMG and Interpath.

Since November 2021, he has used his transactional experience and network to support the successful set up of Interpath’s Transaction Services business.

In this time he has led on 15 transactions across a range of sectors and deals ranging in size from £5m to £120m, where he has earned a reputation for the unique and commercially focused approach he has brought to financial due diligence.

Russell Worrall, head of Interpath’s transaction services team, said: “Our TS business is now just over a year old. During this relatively short timescale, we’ve been proud to advise on over 30 projects for both PE houses and corporate clients, including LDC’s investment in IWS Group and Longacre Group’s acquisition of Power Adhesives.  In addition, we have welcomed senior members to the team including Leonard Cripps and Matthew Townsend, and built out our operational due diligence offering with the appointment of Rob Allard.

“Steve’s promotion to managing director is testament to the pivotal role he’s played in creating and building this team, and driving our success across the market. He epitomises the senior-led and commercially-focussed approach that we take across all our engagements, and his experience spanning both Transaction Services and Restructuring is a real differentiator.”

Since Interpath Advisory launched in May 2021, the firm has grown from 43 managing directors and 507 staff to a team of 57 managing directors and around 620 staff in the UK. In addition, it has expanded its global footprint into BVI, Cayman Islands and Anguilla with the acquisition in July 2022 of Kalo, the restructuring and advisory firm; as well as opening offices in Ireland and Northern Ireland, with the hire of a number of senior practitioners from Deloitte and KPMG.

Law firm mfg Solicitors has welcomed five trainees into its growing team across the region.

Joining the firm as trainees are Reuben Grimshaw, Lauren Williams, Kirandip Kaur, Amelia Edwards and Lucy Allen.

The five new recruits, who will train in a variety of specialisms during their two-year contracts, will follow last year’s cohort of trainees, Lucy George, Rachel Dear and Lucy Harrold, who are now embarking on their second year.

Sam Pedley, partner and head of the firm’s litigation department, said: “We are welcoming another strong intake of trainees this year who will all be hands-on and work across any one of our eight divisional teams.

“Their role and tasks will see them working directly with clients on a day-to-day basis, ‘learning on the job’ and making a valuable contribution to their divisional teams and the firm.

He added: “Our trainee scheme is very important to the company and to myself as I really benefited as a trainee, learning from fantastic established lawyers who helped nurture and support at every step. I shall also be on hand as a supervising partner to oversee the new talent through the graduate recruitment programme.”

Mfg’s two-year training programme comprises four six monthly positions working in different departments with trainees also undertaking studies and working towards the PSC – Professional Skills Course.”

Partner Tom Esler said: “As a business we pride ourselves on exceptional client service, so you can see why we devote so much time to training and making the investment in the future of the next generation from the outset.”

“We invest heavily in trainees, in terms of cost and time, as we intend to offer them positions on completion of training – having a 100% retention rate reflects how successful both the trainees and the programme is.”
