Tributes paid to ‘champion of Birmingham’ David Oram

Tributes have been paid to ‘champion of Birmingham’ David Oram, who passed away following a short illness.

The founder of Brumpic created the well-known platform to celebrate the city’s cultural events and highlight the ‘very best of Brum’.

The Brumpic account tweeted: “It is with the heaviest of hearts, we announced the passing of Brumpic founder @mrdaveoram. A much-loved husband, father and friend, Dave was a true champion of Birmingham. Rest easy our friend x”.

The 52-year-old was also the head of event management at the University of Birmingham.

A fundraising page has been set up for those wanting to donate to commemorate Dave’s memory. It says Dave was a, “friend to countless people in the city. Dave passed away in October 2022 following a short illness. Macmillan were a real support to Dave and his family in his final weeks, and we would like to recognise this in his memory”.
