Plans in for 33-storey student flats tower

How Crown Place will look

A new Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA) partnership has re-submitted plans for revised scheme in the centre of Birmingham that could see a 33-storey skyscraper built.

Corvette Capital and Crown Student Living joined forces in the summer to deliver four student developments across the UK with a gross value of around £400m.

The Birmingham scheme is Crown Place, at 75 Lancaster Street in Birmingham. The new plans outline a 100m-high development – a seven floor increase on previously submitted plans. There development will include a mixture of studio, cluster and duplex flats.

The ground floor will include a lounge, gym, games room, cinema and study rooms.

The scheme is being designed by ECE Westworks.

Corvette, a Milton Keynes-based investment company, has replaced the US REIT that previously backed Crown.
