People: Salix Wealth; Roythornes; and more

An expert in business strategy has joined Staffordshire-based wealth management experts Salix Wealth as the new director of growth.

BD Dalton has been added to the team at Salix Wealth, which has its head office in Stafford, to lead the next phase of business development by drawing upon his sector knowledge and extensive sales experience.

Dalton spent 12 years as a stockbroker and financial advisor for international group Edward Jones, before setting up and working for a series of successful West Midlands wealth management firms. His most recent roles were at Temple Row Wealth Management and as business strategy specialist for Birmingham-based business development coaching experts Rockfine Group.

He is also a board member for Birmingham Enterprise Community and external advisor for Sustainability West Midlands.

Dalton said: “I am looking forward to supporting the team at Salix Wealth to grow their networks and client bases. I will be able to leverage my wide experience of the financial services field and am looking forward to being in a team which is spirited, highly competent and firmly focused on our clients’ goals especially considering the current market volatility and cost of living crisis.”

Managing Director Steve Moseley said: “We are delighted to welcome BD to the Salix Wealth team. We look forward to drawing upon his extensive financial services and business development experience as we plan the next phase of growth.”

The managing director of a group of boutique hotels based in Warwickshire has been appointed as the new chairman of a leading industry membership body.

Mark Chambers has taken the reins at Pride of Britain Hotels.

Chambers is the group managing director of Stratford-upon-Avon-based The Eden Hotel Collection, which includes the town’s The Arden Hotel, Mallory Court Hotel and Spa in Leamington, Brockencote Hall Hotel in Kidderminster, The Greenway Hotel and Spa in Cheltenham, and Bovey Castle in Devon.

He takes over from Sue Williams, managing director of Whatley Manor, and will closely with the Pride of Britain Hotels’ senior leadership team and oversee the board members, made up of leading hoteliers.

Chambers said: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chairman of Pride of Britain Hotels.

“It is such an exciting time for the consortium with much to be positive about, and I am confident of and very much looking forward to a successful 2023.

“Early next year we have some exciting news that will be sure to elevate the brand, as well as increase the profile of our collection to consumers and fellow hoteliers.

“Whilst there are many positive projects and objectives on our agenda, I also recognise we have tough times ahead for our industry and I pledge to ensure we are constantly working closely with all stakeholders to support our members as best we can through these uncertain times.

“My predecessor Sue successfully oversaw the transition and introduction of a new CEO, as well as navigated us through the restart following Covid, and on behalf of the board and our members, I thank her for her excellent stewardship over the past two years.”

Pride of Britain Hotels’ CEO Kalindi Juneja added: “Mark Chambers has a remarkable drive for business with well thought out strategy and long-term vision.

“He is currently our longest-serving board member and brings profound context to every debate. I am very excited to be working closely with him over the next two years as we continue to drive the brand and inspire consumers with our collection of leading, unique British hotels.”
