£4m industrial park gets the green light

Plans for a 24-unit industrial park in Coventry have been approved by the city council.

The £4m development by The Wigley Group, will transform a brownfield site on Endemere Road into units ranging in size from 1,000 to 3,000 sq ft to help meet growing demand for sheds in the region.

It follows planning permission at the start of the year for a £4.5m industrial scheme lodged by The Wigley Group on Stonebridge Trading Estate, Rowley Drive.

Work at the new Albion Enterprise Park will begin this year, ready for tenancy next year.

Mike Vining, land and development director at The Wigley Group, which is based in Southam in Warwickshire, said: “This scheme responds to the acute demand for industrial space in a well-connected location such as this, and so it is no surprise that we have already received interest in these units.

“We are now exploring finance and funding options in the coming months ahead of commencing work later in the year”.

The scheme on Endemere Road will provide sustainable industrial units with office and storage space catering for small businesses, along with 72 car parking spaces.

The 1.88-acre brownfield site at the back of the Albion Industrial Estate is currently vacant following the demolition of dilapidated pre-war industrial units.
