Property firm reels in fishing retailer to Coventry

Holt Commercial has landed a national retailer at a prominent property in Coventry.

The agency, which has offices in Coventry and Birmingham, has reeled in online fishing retailer Angling Direct as a tenant at 513 Fletchamstead Highway, which was previously home to Barclays Bank.

The Norwich-headquartered company sells everything from rods and reels through to chairs and shelters and has launched a physical store within the 6,641 sq ft property.

Peter Holt, director of Holt Commercial, said: “We are delighted to bring Angling Direct to Coventry and it is very pleasing to see the established internet retailer creating a physical store in the city.

“This region is the perfect place for this kind of operation as we are centrally based and it means customers who would prefer to buy in person rather than via the web can access it very easily. We’ve seen this model work well with other internet retailers.

“The retail property sector is very mixed but what this deal proves is if you have the right kind of property on the hook it is sure to get a bite.”
