Developer sells Staffordshire senior living residential scheme

Developer Charterpoint has sold a retirement living scheme site in Rolleston on Dove, Staffordshire to Peveril Homes.

The project, which will be built on land off Craythorne Road, will feature 22 detached retirement living bungalows.

East Staffordshire Borough Council granted full planning permission for the scheme on a site of just over three acres in the village, which is two miles north of Burton upon Trent.

“We identified a need in this area for high-quality retirement living accommodation in a sustainable environment and gained outline planning permission for a scheme five years ago,” said Adrian Goose, chief executive of Nottingham-based Charterpoint.

“The site has now received planning permission and been sold to Peveril Homes, which gives the green light to start on site.

“The intention has always been to create a sought-after, bespoke development that is ideal for older people wishing to downsize and we look forward to seeing the development come to fruition.”

Charterpoint, which is based at Edwalton, specialises in developing sustainable housing schemes, first-class senior living accommodation, mixed-use developments and primary care premises.

Peveril Homes managing director James Smith said: “We are thrilled to be bringing our expertise in delivering high-quality residential developments to the Rolleston on Dove area.

“The development, which will be called Rolleston Leas, will be both functional and sustainable, with many of the properties wheelchair-accessible or wheelchair-user dwellings.

“Exclusively for those over the age of 55, this development will meet the needs of the growing retirement living market, and we look forward to delivering a high-quality development that will offer a wonderful lifestyle to its residents.”
