Birmingham’s largest wine bar to close its doors

Birmingham’s restaurant and wine bar Vinoteca will close on May 27, not even a year after first opening.

Located at Two Chamberlain Square, the 4,500 sq ft venue is Birmingham’s largest wine bar, with 150 covers set across a ground and mezzanine floor, 40 seats on the outdoor terrace, and an on-site wine shop.

It’s opening marked Vinoteca’s first venture outside of London.

Vinoteca says that difficult trading conditions during and post-pandemic, as well as rising costs, inflation, spiralling energy charges and regular train strikes has meant Vinoteca has been unable to continue to grow.

Vinoteca Director, Charlie Young said: “It is with great sadness that we have had to make the very difficult decision to close the doors at Vinoteca Birmingham and are heart-broken to be leaving the incredible Paradise development and a city we have grown to respect and admire.
