Sustainable industrial scheme set for approval

Birmingham City Council is set to approve 66,000 sq ft of BREEAM Excellent industrial floorspace in Tyseley.

Permission is being sought after for the demolition of an existing 15,260 sq m commercial unit at Tyseley Park, as well as the erection of three blocks comprising 12 units, in an effort to provide high quality and flexible commercial units for small businesses.

The first block of Units 1-6 will have gross internal areas between 2,700 sq ft to 6,500 sq ft, whilst a second block of Units 7-11 will have space between 2,400 sq ft to 5,900 sq ft.

Unit 12 will be the largest in the development with nearly 20,000 sq ft of space including office space.

There will also be a secure yard with car, cycle and goods vehicle parking on the development site of 1.68 hectares.

The existing building was last occupied by the Tenneco Walker Automotive which operated from 1950s until March 2021.

The council will vote on the scheme on Thursday 15 June.
