Dains Accountants has welcomed Ann Bibby as tax partner in its Birmingham office.

With her extensive expertise in tax advisory, she will play a key role in providing strategic tax guidance to clients across various industries.

Her areas of focus include corporate tax, transaction tax, R&D tax relief, management equity and share options, restructuring, capital allowances, and employment tax issues.

Bibby also offers a comprehensive range of personal tax services, covering aspects such as annual tax compliance, profit extraction, business disposal, estate planning, emigration, and non-UK domicile planning.

Birmingham-based land and property advisory firm Highgate Land and Development has promoted Tom Ackrill to associate director.

He joined the company in 2018 as a development surveyor and he specialises in the disposal and acquisition of development sites, affordable housing and providing general development consultancy and viability advice to a range of clients including housebuilders, developers, housing associations, landowners and public sector organisations.

Ackrill said: “I’m thrilled to have been promoted to Associate Director. We have a great team here and deliver excellent results and value for our clients which I look forward to building on in my new role.”

Chartered surveyor George Xydias has joined Creative Retail Property Consultants.

A former agency director at Centrick Commercial, he has been appointed as a director of the Birmingham-based firm.

He will be responsible for diversifying Creative Retail’s extensive portfolio and will work alongside its established agency team of Scott Robertson, Ed Purcell, Matt Pegg and Guy Sankey.

Xydias has more than two decades of commercial property sector experience, spanning senior roles with Pennycuick Collins, Lambert Smith Hampton and more recently as a partner at Centrick Commercial.

He said: “Creative Retail is a dynamic and successful agency that is highly regarded throughout the industry. I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside the team for many years as a joint agent and have always found them to be inclusive, cohesive and extremely professional.
