Law firm’s Birmingham office records 12% revenue increase as focus on specialist litigation and business transformation pays off

Fieldfisher Birmingham has announced its results for the financial year 2022/2023, recording strong growth in line with the robust performance of the wider firm.

The Birmingham office posted a revenue increase of 12% year-on-year, having grown steadily since Fieldfisher opened its Midlands hub in 2016. Fieldfisher as a firm is celebrating its tenth consecutive year of revenue growth to £370m – up 11% on the previous financial year.

Fieldfisher Birmingham’s office leader Ranjit Dhindsa said: “We are thrilled with our financial results this year, which reflect the hard work of our team and the continued trust and support of our ever-growing client base, who rely on us for premium legal advice in the Midlands.

“Our capacity to offer our clients local support and knowledge backed by a wider international network of leading legal experts and commercial relationships has helped boost our work in all areas, particularly our proficiency in specialist litigation and business transformation.

“Our dispute resolution team is instructed on some of the highest value arbitration cases in the UK today, our corporate team is acting on significant international M&A deals and our real estate team is advising on major property development and regeneration projects around the country.

“Our employment group is collaborating with our European offices on cross-border projects for numerous high-profile clients and our contentious tax team is extremely busy with HMRC disputes and professional negligence cases.

“Going forward, we remain focused on supporting the wider firm’s strategy to deliver growth and foster greater collaboration in support of our clients’ needs in Europe and internationally.”

Fieldfisher Birmingham contributed to the firm’s overall results, participating in revenue generation for the firm’s four key focus sectors of energy and natural resources, technology, life sciences and financial services.

Underpinning the growth strategy is an ongoing investment in bringing new talent to the firm and Fieldfisher Birmingham intends to double in headcount and revenue in the next five years.
