People: Caddick Construction; CPMG; Richborough Estates

Caddick Construction Group is expanding its geographical reach with the appointment of Ray O’Sullivan as regional director for the Midlands.

The new role will see O’Sullivan lead a regional team for Caddick Construction Group, building on the business’ 40-year presence in the North West, Cumbria, North East and Yorkshire.

With nearly three decades in construction, he brings a wealth of experience to the role having previously worked at Sisk Group and more recently Mac Group, working across the industrial, residential, pharmaceutical and process sectors.

O’Sullivan joins Caddick a year after the appointment of Paul Dodsworth as Caddick Construction Group managing director last summer, which has been followed by a period of sustainable growth.

This has included a series of senior hires as the business looks to refine and expand its market position, building on its current project portfolio in the commercial, education, industrial, leisure, residential, care and retail sectors.

O’Sullivan will lead a team in the Midlands, including new senior team members Ryan Williams as commercial manager, Steve Parsons as regional design manager, Brian Inett as services manager, Michelle Elleman as business development manager and Jane Alton as proposals manager.

Architectural and interior design practice CPMG has appointed an associate who will be helping to meet demand for services offered by its Birmingham studio.

Derek Lee joins CPMG having worked in Birmingham for local and national clients for more than ten years.

He said: “I am very excited to join CPMG and to be part of the practices’ vision, which involves further expansion in Birmingham, along with the Nottingham and London bases too. I’m naturally looking forward to being part of the team, consolidating existing client relationships and successfully delivering our projects, while also looking for new opportunities and securing more work.

“It is a particularly exciting time for Birmingham with the ‘Our Future City’ framework guiding us to 2040 – creating new opportunities and investment within the area. I am confident that we will be contributing to this vision.”

Joining director Anil Parmar at CPMG’s Birmingham studio, Lee will be supporting with work spanning various industries but with a particular focus on healthcare, commercial, advanced manufacturing and industrial.

CPMG has recently been appointed via Perfect Circle as architect on the Walsall, Guildhall project, the Grade II listed building is set to be revamped in order to become a Creative Industries Enterprise Centre. CPMG is also currently designing the George Betts School in Smethwick and New Oscott School in Sutton Coldfield.

Birmingham land promoter Richborough has promoted Charlotte Lewis and Dean Knight to the positions of group design director and group technical director respectively.

Paul Campbell, chief executive at Richborough, said: “Huge congratulations to Charlotte and Dean on their promotions. They have played a huge part in the success Richborough has enjoyed so far and will play a key role in our journey to be the pre-eminent land promoter of choice in both the residential and commercial strategic land sectors.
