Business centre and self-storage company buys new site in major expansion
A business centre and self-storage company has announced another expansion after completing the purchase of a new site in Warwick.
Squab Storage, which has its headquarters in Leamington, has purchased a site at Tournament Fields Business Park and will have invested close to £3.5m in the facility once it has been converted to a self-storage operation.
Squab centres offer storage for companies and individuals, but frequently act as hubs for companies in a range of sectors through its Squab workspace service, which offers flexible accommodation to support growing businesses, state-of-the-art amenities, and on-site business support services.
Squab currently has centres in Leamington, Evesham and Rubery in the West Midlands as well as Stowmarket, in Suffolk. It has also purchased a site in Bridgwater, Somerset, which is set to launch at the end of 2023.
The internal fit-out is expected to begin this summer which will see the creation of around 50,000 sq ft of self-storage.
Once completed, it will offer a range of flexible storage solutions suitable for both residential and commercial needs, with van hire also available.
Its Squab workspace offering will also be available on-site to provide businesses with flexible accommodation to support growth, facilities such as meeting and conference rooms, hotdesking facilities and office space, state-of-the-art amenities and on-site business support services.
Alex Henney, a director of Squab, said: “We are extremely pleased to complete the purchase of our new site at Tournament Fields as we continue to grow our service offering in South Warwickshire.
“Our Leamington site is beginning to reach full capacity, and we already have a customer base from the Warwick area, so our new site will complement our existing operations and help us cater for any additional demand.
“We will be delivering almost 50,000 sq ft of self-storage, as well as providing flexible and bespoke accommodation as well as amenities and support to SMEs in a range of sectors.
“In Leamington alone we are home to an extremely diverse range of businesses – including those utilising units for face-to-face operations such as a golf simulator business, an antenatal and postnatal hub and a swimming training and coaching business.
“This is another significant investment for us at Squab, and we look forward to welcoming and supporting our customers in Warwick when we launch at the end of the year.”
