Administrators have completed a rescue deal for a Midlands manufacturer, saving 30 jobs.

Sheet metal manufacturer Radshape has been acquired by specialist steel and fabric firm Beakbane, as the Kidderminster company looks to grow its UK manufacturing capabilities.

Radshape, which has been trading in Birmingham since 1976, counts names such as Bentley, Lotus, Tata Steel and Aston Martin as clients.

The firm will continue to operate from its Aston-based facility under the new brand name “Beakbane Precision”.

Mike Southwell, managing director at Beakbane said: “We’re delighted to have acquired such great capability in high-quality fabrication work via Radshape Sheet Metal.

“Their skilled employees are a key part of the successful calibre and reputation. Together with their strong customer base Radshape Sheet Metal will form a key part of our UK manufacturing growth plans in stainless steel and aluminium fabrication for specialist applications.

“We look forward to growing this business into adjacent sectors within our complimentary customer base.”

Joint administrator Conrad Beighton said: “It is pleasing that we were able to ensure the continuity of this established business and preserve the brand and its staff.

“This was only possible due to the efforts of all stakeholders, its major customers and the purchaser.”
