Council gets £1m brownfield land funding support

Warwick District Council is to get a £1m injection from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to support a programme of housing regeneration.

It is among 100 local authorities nationally who will receive a grant from the ‘Brownfield Land Release Fund’, enabling it to bring forward targeted redevelopment projects on sites which are currently wasteland or where buildings have fallen into disrepair.

Warwick District Council’s Paul Wightman said: “Securing this funding is a significant boost to our plans to extend and improve our housing stock, allowing us to unlock projects that will bring new affordable, high-quality, energy efficient homes to support the housing needs of our local communities.”
