Medical tattoo company secures funding to promote scar covering services
Birmingham-based medical tattoo studio Sunday Skin has secured £15,000 in funding to get the business off the ground.
Sunday Skin is a medical tattoo studio exclusively dedicated to covering scars from surgery, C-sections, acne, and stretch marks.
Mia Casey, founder of Sunday Skin, started her business after struggling to find solutions for her own scars.
She decided to train in scar camouflage and then got her qualifications as a paramedical tattooist.
The funding from First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans will be used to increase its online presence across a range of social media channels. In addition, it will be used for purchasing specialised equipment for treatments and enhancing its booking system.
Casey said: “Despite Sunday Skin’s recent establishment in April 2023, the increased demand led me to apply for a Start Up Loan through First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans to take the business to the next level. This funding will significantly contribute to launching and advancing Sunday Skin. The streamlined and supportive process, guided by my business adviser and the whole team, exceeded my expectations. Their comprehensive assistance and belief in my vision and business were truly remarkable.”
Inderpal Singh, business adviser at First Enterprise – Enterprise Loans, said: “Mia’s personality shone through, she’s a true people person. It was a pleasure to review and support her application. Her dedication and can-do attitude will serve her well. I’m excited about the funding she received and look forward to seeing Sunday Skin flourish.”
