£25m development secures leading tenant

Topland has secured its leading tenant for its Paradise View development in central Birmingham.

24-hour gym franchise Anytime Fitness is set to let 4,500 sq ft from the investor, as part of the regeneration of the former Beneficial Building at Paradise Circus.

The redevelopment, set for completion later this year and opening in January 2024, has seen Topland and partner CoLico Living convert the former office building into 159 build-to-rent apartments, supported by 8,000 sq ft of retail and amenity space in addition to the Anytime Fitness gym.

Sitting next to the £700m Paradise masterplan, the refurbishment includes a rooftop extension, 120,000 sq ft of retail space, three new public squares and Grade A sustainable office provision in the heart of the city.

Features of the Paradise View scheme also include a co-working space, a media and TV lounge and cycle parking for up to 90 bikes.

Anytime Fitness, which operates almost 200 gyms across the UK, will provide local residents and the wider community with 24-hour access to the gym, equipment, private bathrooms and support and guidance from a team of coaches.

BAM Construction has been delivering the refurbishment work at Paradise View.
