Aston Villa and England footballer Ollie Watkins is reportedly looking to place funds into an online marketplace selling limited-edition clothing and trainers.

According to Sky News, Watkins is set to invest in The Edit LDN alongside sports broadcaster and former Love Island contestant Josh Denzel.

The Edit LDN, founded in 2020 by Moses Rashid sources and sells premium fashion labels such as Louis Vuitton and Dior and has concessions in stores such as Harrods and Harvey Nichols. It’s recently embarked on a £5m funding round after seeing revenue grow at a rate of more than 500% a year.

Rashid said in January to Forbes, that he is targeting a $150m valuation by 2026 and $1bn within three years of that.

£3.9m was secured through a seed round at the start of this year, led by Regah Ventures to invest in its growth in the US, the Middle East and North Africa.

According to Sky, Rashid said: “Having household names in Ollie and Josh joining our journey, marks a great next phase of The Edit LDN as we continue to drive our platform to a wider audience of customers, making the inaccessible accessible.

“[They] have been incredibly supportive and are committed to driving awareness and… value for the brand.”
