The Building The Future Awards 2023 took centre stage at Aston Villa FC on November 17th, as the construction industry came together to celebrate and recognise the contributions of young individuals aged 18 to 35.

Founded by Zoe Bennett, BEM, and Errol Lawson, the awards were hosted by Ed James, DJ from Heart FM, and Damini Sharma from OM Group, as well as the room hearing keynote speeches from the Metro Mayor Andy Street and Deputy Leader of Birmingham City Council Sharon Thompson.

The Building The Future Awards were sponsored by headline partners Birmingham City Council and South and City College.

George Clarkes charity MOBIE was showcased, which focuses on addressing challenges in the construction industry, and inspiring new ways of thinking about home design, construction, and the built environment.

X Factor finalists LMA Choir took to the stage throughout the evening.

Zoe Bennett said: “The Building The Future Awards were founded with the vision of recognising and valuing the young talent shaping the future of construction. It’s heartening to see the electrifying atmosphere and the gratitude expressed by the winners, truly embodying the spirit of the awards.”

Errol Lawson said: “We are incredibly proud of the success of the Building The Future Awards. It was an unforgettable evening where we celebrated the remarkable achievements of young professionals in the construction industry.”
