Union signs deal at HS2’s Birmingham station

GMB has finalised a union agreement at HS2’s Curzon Street station in Birmingham today.

This agreement, negotiated with MaceDragados, the joint venture responsible for constructing the station, grants GMB access to the workforce involved in the station’s development.

Within this framework, GMB will actively enlist members and representatives from the workforce.

Additionally, the union will play a role in upholding and ensuring standards in health, safety, and well-being are consistently maintained throughout the project

Charlotte Brumpton-Childs, GMB national officer, said: “GMB is proud to have reached an agreement with MaceDragados. Workers win when unions are given access to the workplace. We look forward to meeting new members and recruiting reps to further strengthen GMB’s involvement in the HS2 construction.”
