Acquisitive accountants expand network into Cornwall

Acquisitive accountancy group BK Plus is expanding into Cornwall after it agreed a deal to buy Atkins Ferrie.

The purchase comes just two weeks after BK Plus entered the South West when it acquired Cheltenham firm Andorran, and is part of its strategy to become a trusted advisor to SME businesses nationwide.

Hannah Collison, director at Atkins Ferrie, said: “Joining forces with BK Plus presents an exciting opportunity for us to continue delivering exceptional service to our clients while gaining access to BK Plus’s extensive resources and network. We are eager to collaborate with the BK Plus team.”

BK Plus was created by David Baldwin and Shaun Knight in early 2021 and was backed by Palatine Private Equity last September.

The Walsall-headquartered group has around 300 staff, with 15 moving over with Atkins Ferrie, and has been spreading from its Midlands roots through acquisitions.

Atkins Ferrie’s office in Helston will become its 15th location in a network that now spans from Jesmond in Newcastle to the Cornish coast.

Shaun Knight, chief executive of BK Plus, said: “This acquisition represents a strategic opportunity for us to expand our presence into the South West and deliver our high-quality services to businesses in this vibrant region.”
