Developer agrees pre-sale for 278,000 sq ft unit

Worcester Six extension plans

A commercial property developer has reached an agreement with MiTek for the pre-sale of a 278,000 sq ft unit at Worcester Six Business Park.

Stoford has finalised a pre-sale deal at its Worcester Six Business Park scheme with MiTek, a provider of integrated software, services, engineered products, and automated solutions for the building industry worldwide.

The developer has applied for planning permission to construct a new 278,048 sq ft manufacturing facility at the southern extension of Worcester Six, situated near Junction 6 of the M5 motorway.

Stoford director, Edward Peel, said: “This is a hugely significant deal for Worcester Six and a tremendous boost for employment in Worcestershire. MiTek’s commitment to establishing a new headquarters at Worcester Six supports our vision to extend the business park and improve the site’s deliverability to occupiers. We are looking forward to securing planning consent and starting work on another unit.”

If the plans are approved, MiTek will acquire the building’s freehold upon completion.

Stoford has recently initiated phase two infrastructure works at Worcester Six, which will enable the development of the site’s southern extension, opening up more than 60 acres of land.

Upon completion, phase two is expected to deliver up to an additional 680,000 sq ft of new employment space.

James Morgan, managing director for MiTek’s EMEA operations said: “As demand for offsite construction continues to grow, this building will provide the manufacturing capacity to support the continued growth of our customers across Europe, as well as provide spaces that inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and drive innovation.”
